Yves Lepage, a partner in the International Corporate department of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, has been resident in the Firm’s Paris office since mid-2002, having previously been resident in the New York office of the Firm for over 18 years. Mr. Lepage has extensive experience in large-scale international infrastructure projects and project finance transactions. He has represented public and private sector clients in a wide range of international transactions in the power, oil and gas, petrochemical, transportation, airport, and water supply industries. Included in Mr. Lepage’s practice experience is the representation of government entities in the structuring and implementing of BLT, BOT and IPP projects in the power sector. He has also represented large private sector companies in bidding for, and negotiating privatization and concession agreements for, highway and airport construction and management projects, as well as negotiating joint venture and financing agreements for such projects and others such as the development and build-out of a national long-distance telecommunications network. In addition, Mr. Lepage has represented a number of financial institutions lending to infrastructure projects. Although Mr. Lepage’s practice extends over various regions, a large number of transactions have involved Europe and Latin America.
Mr. Lepage has significant experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial law and corporate and trade finance, including bank and capital market financings involving many forms of credit enhancement, as well as export credit agency support from US, French, Japanese and other agencies. He has acted as counsel in numerous international arbitrations (including ICC, ICSID, LCIA and ad hoc arbitrations), representing US and French companies and sovereign states. Mr. Lepage lectures widely on subjects such as privatization, international financing and project finance.
Among Mr. Lepage’s recent transactions is the representation of a large French construction company in the bidding for the privatization of Brussels Airport. Mr. Lepage was also involved in the recent implementation of the PPP (Public Private Partnership) legislation in France. In that regard, he is assisting financial institutions, infrastructure funds and municipalities for the development of new projects under the PPP structure.
Mr Lepage is Avocat à la Court d'Appel in Paris and admitted to the Bar of the State of New York. In July 1996, he was appointed Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur de la France. Mr. Lepage has been a recurring name in Euromoney’s Expert Guides: Project Finance Lawyers.
